“A Certified Grief Educator is committed to providing the highest level of grief support through education, experience, and insights into the often unacknowledged, rocky terrain of grief. They bring their unique methodology, tools, and decades of experience to help people navigate the challenges of grief.” ~ David Kessler

Having had enough grief in my own life, I had always wondered what the purpose of all this suffering and repeated experiences was. Does the pain end, and if so, when? Death and loss are taboo topics in many cultures simply for what they may bring up. The journeys of the bereaved are hardly witnessed and noticeable. The reluctance to have these personal conversations leaves people remaining unheard, trapped, and shut inside, which can affect multiple dimensions of their life. Advice is plenty and often backfires. Moving on is easier said than done and hardly taught, making it an extremely difficult lonely journey for any individual.
I didn’t find the awareness and sensitivity I expected in the world around me.

In my own tough journey of losses that haunted me for almost two decades, I had limited strategies to cope. I healed haphazardly, slowly, and felt extremely lonely. In time, I decided to further educate myself in this area and finished the certificate program designed by world-renowned grief expert David Kessler, an excellent teacher and mentor to me.
While losses aren’t confined to death alone, the loss of a relationship, an illness, a loss of finances, a move to a different place, or the loss of independence in life can bring about feelings identifiable with grief. When one begins to notice, acknowledge, and discuss the situation at hand, it can often be very helpful and supportive. Learning strategies, coping, and finding tools to work on the challenges that present themselves in grief can make a tremendous difference to anyone willing to heal themselves.
As a grief educator, I am working in this specific area of “grief, loss, and bereavement” after having built up my own experience and insights over two decades and committed to my own post-traumatic growth through this journey of pain. Today, I work to assist people in feeling safe and comfortable within, along with helping them identify their own feelings, understand their thoughts, and initiate the process to move forward in a healthy manner. Through both one-on-one and group work, my attempt is to help clients focus on finding their voice, feeling heard, and identifying the best way for them to take the next step on their path.
